A Letter from our Camp Hosts​
Brad & Charlotte

Hey Campers!

Our names are Charlotte and Brad and we are the faces you'll meet when you come stay at the campground.

Here's a bit about us: 

​

We both grew up in the country. Our recent move into an RV was based on the love we have for the outdoors and wildlife. Being outdoors has been a huge part of our lives and that will continue through our journey thanks to being at Big Tex Campgrounds. Our hope is to generate the same love of nature into all of the guest’s stays here- whether it be short or long term. We have 2 adult children and 2 tiny grands that rule the roost. In our downtime we enjoy soaking up every minute spoiling our grandbabies and cooking up some good meals. We have 4 furbaby dogs, all of which are spoiled rotten.

Brad, My husband, grew up in a very popular family owned steak house, so his love for business and hospitality runs deep from childhood. The restaurant industry not only taught him how to cook the perfect steak, but also to anticipate a customers needs, multitask and know firsthand what it takes to run a successful small business. He carried these lessons with him and later in life went from serving tables to serving the public where he worked as a first responder and upon retiring many years later, decided to live a slower paced lifestyle, which led us here

I (Charlotte) owned and operated a salon for the past 20+ years and found that, along with my passion for making people feel good about themselves, that I also loved the hospitality side of things as well. I wanted my customers to feel at home in my salon, as well as loved and cared for and I anticipate bringing that same passion into our beautiful campground here as well. During the week you’ll find me in the front office, outside in nature, or puttering around on the golf cart talking to our guests. Aside from my love of people, I am also a huge animal lover. My passion for years was saving and placing dogs with furever homes. 

We want to assure you that we will continue bringing the same love, energy and passion for watching Big Tex Campgrounds grow as Josh and Kaylee have. We can’t speak for everyone, but this place has been an absolutely beautiful blessing for our family. We are at peace here and love being surrounded by all the beauty this place offers.
