Every space here is unique, offering more shade and privacy than the average campground. We’ve got a full-service laundry room, private hot-water showers, walking trails that lead straight into Ben Wheeler for live music, and the most shaded dog park in East Texas. You’ll also find on-site propane, firewood, patio tables, fire pits, and an amazing on-site staff that truly cares about your stay.
And we’re just getting started—coming soon are a swimming pond with a beach, slides, and jumping decks, primitive creek-side tent sites, 12 safari tent cabins, and a long-term RV area with covered sites, storage, and fenced yards for the guests who never want to leave. (Who could blame them?)

Big Tex Campgrounds isn’t just for campers — we’re proud to serve our neighbors too. Whether you’re topping off your RV tank, refilling for your grill, or getting ready for a road trip, our on-site propane station is now open to the public. Quick, convenient, and right here in Ben Wheeler, Texas.

We pride ourselves on giving back to our guests with everything the park earns and we are CONSTANTLY adding amenities and expanding. We are not part of a gigantic corporate investment company. We are just two regular people building our future dream. It's definitely not the quickest route, but it's 100% worth it to have creative control and explore all the possibilities.
The beautiful part is our guests get to be apart of that.
